Optional week numbers and holiday marks
Week numbers and holiday marks are optional and off by default. Choose ISO or US in WEEK NOS to add a narrow week column, and enable federal marks when you want short statutory and observed labels. Your PDF, JPEG and browser print view use the selected options.
January 2027 in the year
The opening weekend occupies the right edge of a Monday-first calendar: Friday 1 January sits beside Saturday 2 and Sunday 3. On a Sunday-first sheet, the month instead spans six rows because Sunday 31 January needs a final row of its own. Neither arrangement changes the dates.
January contains five Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, but four of each other weekday. Its first complete Monday-to-Sunday week is 4–10 January, which is also ISO week 1 of 2027. The preceding Friday, Saturday and Sunday belong to the final ISO week of 2026; an ISO week-year is not always the same as the year printed beside a civil date. February follows on Monday, so the final Sunday in this month leads directly into a new month and a new workweek.
How to print this january calendar
Pick the layout before adding handwritten details. Classic gives a balanced grid; Large Write-In supplies three lines inside each date cell. Notes Column reserves space beside the month, while Ink Saver removes decorative fills. Weekend Color makes the two weekend columns easier to find without labeling any date as a holiday. The optional notes row is separate from the Notes Column design.
Select Sunday or Monday, then match A4 or Letter to the paper in your printer. Download PDF for a prepared document, or use Print calendar to open your browser's print dialog. Check the selected paper, margins and preview before sending a full batch. A JPEG is useful in a shared folder or a document layout, but a PDF is usually the simpler route when you want predictable paper dimensions.
Planning with the January layout
Begin with commitments that already have a date rather than filling every empty square. A separate January sheet can hold school return dates, project handoffs or household appointments without requiring those activities to be public holidays. Write a small key in the margin if several people share the calendar, and reserve the side panel for tasks whose timing is still flexible.
Keep a December reference nearby when copying recurring entries across the year boundary. Check each new date rather than carrying a weekday position forward from an older calendar. January's five weekends can also make a four-week repeating plan look complete before the month has ended. Leave room for 29–31 January when planning a final review or preparing February's sheet.
Official US federal holidays in January 2027
Two federal holidays have statutory dates in January. Both fall on weekdays in 2027, so the statutory and standard observed dates match. These references do not add holiday text to your default printed grid; enable marks if you want the labels.
| Holiday | Statutory date | Weekday | Observed date | Observed weekday |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| New Year’s Day | Friday | Friday | ||
| Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. | Monday | Monday |
Dates follow 5 U.S.C. 6103. Weekend federal holidays use the OPM observed-day rule (Saturday → Friday, Sunday → Monday) for most Monday–Friday federal schedules. Observed dates are labeled separately from the statutory date.
Frequently asked questions
Can I add week numbers and federal holiday marks?
Yes. Choose ISO or US week numbers and enable federal marks in the controls. Both are off by default, and changing one option preserves your other selections. The preview, PDF and JPEG use the same choices.
Why does January use six rows with Sunday start?
January starts Friday and ends Sunday. Sunday 31 January needs a sixth row; Monday start groups it with the preceding week.
Which week is ISO week 1 in January 2027?
ISO week 1 runs from Monday 4 January through Sunday 10 January. The calendar offers a Monday-first layout, and the optional ISO setting prints week numbers in a narrow column beside the date cells.
Are January's federal holidays marked on the download?
Not by default. New Year’s Day and the Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. appear in the reference table below the calendar. The default PDF, JPEG and browser-printed grid remain unmarked; enable federal marks to include short labels.
Can I keep an unchanged January master?
Yes. Keep a clean PDF master. Your handwritten notes remain on your printed sheet, not on this website.
